“We are the warriors of Futuwwa.
We live in unity, and we die with honor."

Vision

Futuwwa

Inspired by Islam’s over fourteen hundred-year-old ethical code of virtuous youth, Futuwwa shares the legendary history of Muslim migration to medieval Japan and its impact on the heart of its culture through the eyes of a young Muslim Samurai, Sabri Kotaro.  Trained by his sensei in swordsmanship and spirituality, Sabri and his friends must become one with their “Fitrah” if they are to usher in a new age of peace for their nation.

The creative vision and story concept for Futuwwa Ninja was developed by Dr Naoki Yamamoto, Assistant Professor at Marmara University exploring Islam, Manga, Calligraphy, Swordsmanship, Tea Ceremonies. Ph.D. (Kyoto University)

The project is developed in collaboration with Designer Peter Gould and Fictional Frontiers.
